MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Candidates must submit applications by 04/27/23 to be considered for first-round interviews. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 2 years of experience in a child care or early learning setting. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field AND at least a step 10 on the Oregon Registry Online; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Driver Qualification Status is required for this position. Valid driver's license and insured vehicle available for use on the job with a satisfactory drive record for the past 5 years. Candidate required to pass an initial pre-employment physical examination. Maintain First Aid and CPR certification. Registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division. This position is subject to MWVCAA's Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING OF CHILD CARE PROGRAMMING (60%) Works with state and county agencies to complete facility plans and inspections in order to obtain licensure for operation, and the required Quality Rating Improvement Scale (SPARK) rating. Orientates and trains new Creates policies and procedures, forms and tools used for the operation of child care facilities. Develops plans for environment and materials for classrooms; orders supplies and materials. ENROLLMENT (25%) Reviews applications for child care; communicates with applicants concerning their status. Assists staff in accessing Oregon Employment Related Day Care. Determines age eligibility for placement, and identifies children to be enrolled and those to be wait listed. Ensures child care slots are filled promptly, maintaining full enrollment in each classroom. HUMAN RESOURCES (15%) Participates on interview panels and observations for child care staff. Attends to personnel SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises all classroom staff at assigned site. Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws. Other responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 Physical ability to quickly evacuate children from the classroom in an Manual dexterity for handling office WORK ENVIRONMENT Mostly indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and Working evenings and weekends when Occasional remote work from Occasionally exposed to outside weather Driving in all weather conditions. Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other conditions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face coverings may be *COVID-19 Alert: This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus.
