The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for year round Lifeguards at the Boulder YMCA. Our Lifeguards serve as advocates for the safety and wellbeing of our members and guests, and you will ensure that the Y's pools are a friendly, welcoming environment for all to play, learn and build confidence in the water. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of participants while they are in or near the pool or hot tub, general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, chemical testing, and general problem-solving. You'll need to relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, members, program participants, and children. If you are not a certified lifeguard please check out our lifeguard classes at https://www.ymcanoco.org/lifeguard-cpr-certification/lifeguarding. In general, our YMCA pools are open: Monday - Thursday: 5 am - 9:45 pm Friday: 5 am - 7:45 pm Saturday: 6:45 am - 7:45 pm Sunday: 7:45 am - 7:45 pm Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum of 16 years of age. If you are 15 please apply as a Junior Lifeguard. Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR Certifications Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired Salary range is $16.50-18.00/hr based on experience. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. All YMCA of Northern Colorado part-time staff working 10+ hours each week are eligible to receive a free family membership. Staff who work 10+ hours a week earn 50% to 100% off our programs. That includes free YMCA traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate and swim lessons, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, specialty summer camps, and childcare. If you work 20+ hours a week, your benefits grow from there. Sick time is earned from day 1, and we make contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.
