Plus, we love to promote from within . Join us! A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GROOMING TECHNICIAN As a Grooming Tech, you help our furry clients look and feel their best! You perform standard grooming services including bathing, brushing, de-matting, de-shedding, conditioning, and drying fluffy coats. With a calm demeanor, you handle each animal you groom with care and make note of the condition of each dog's coat and skin. You are passionate about pet care, so the safety and comfort of each animal are always your top priority. Maintaining our strict standards for safety, you follow all procedures for pets and staff, asking for assistance when needed. Cleaning up after the dogs and yourself as you go, you make sure the shop floor is dry, all bathing stations are stocked with supplies, and that clean tools are ready for use. At the end of each work day, you sweep up and mop all the fur from the floors and tubs. Communication is key, so you keep all pet statuses up to date in our computer system and make sure to check in with the lead groomer and kennel manager. The trusting relationships that you build with clients and their pets help our company to grow and thrive. You love making dogs look and feel their best and are always working to brush up on and improve your professional skills ! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GROOMING ASSISTANT / DOG GROOMER 6+ months of experience as a bather, groomer, or nail tech in a professional grooming setting 1+ years of experience providing animal care (professionally or personally) Ability to bend and lift 25+ lbs Ability to perform basic trimming, like pad trims, sanitary trims, visor trims is a bonus! Commission pay for these services! If you have your high school diploma or equivalent, that would be a plus. Any grooming certification or licenses you have would also be a bonus!
