The full continuum of River Edge Behavioral Health services provides state-of-the-art treatment and support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and adults annually, who experience mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities. River Edge is looking for an individual who is passionate and motivated about assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining employment in order to "make life better." The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop contacts and partnerships with community businesses and leaders to provide a good match for clients and employers. In addition, this position includes specialized and individualized case management duties. Supported Employment isn't just a career service. Our dedicated, professional, and compassionate team of Employment Specialists understands the unique challenges a person in recovery can face while reaching his or her career goals. Our team helps individuals identify their strengths, motivations, and preferences in order to be placed in competitive positions. The major goal for our team is to assist clients in becoming self-sufficient through competitive, community-based employment. Essentially, the most important aspect of the being an Employment Specialist is to find jobs for our clientele and support them every step of the way. Duties & Responsibilities: Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community job settings with other workers who do not necessarily have disabilities. Provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to patients/clients/consumers and their families, participates in treatment team planning, and performs crisis intervention. Conducts job development and networks with community business and leaders directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests of the team member's caseload. Conducts a minimum of 6 employer contacts per week Assists clients in obtaining information about their benefits (e.g. SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and how they will be affected by employment in order for clients to make informed decisions about employment opportunities. Refers clients to benefits counseling, as needed. Assists individuals with reporting earnings, as needed. Provides individualized follow along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment. Provides outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from the service. Uses a variety of methods to provide outreach. Collaborates with Vocational Rehabilitation counselor to coordinate services for clients. May provide supportive counseling to consumers and families and/or serve as a liaison for social services. May perform case management duties, and skills training with consumers. Assists in dealing with personal and social problems. Completes, maintains, and updates programmatic documentation/case records per DBHDD, IPS Fidelity, and VR guidelines. Must be willing to transport clients in personal vehicle Other duties as assigned Minimum Training & Experience: Fully Covid-19 Vaccinated High school diploma or GED and two years' experience in a social services related position. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a social services related field (social work, sociology, psychology, etc.) is preferred Preferred Qualifications: At least 6 months of job coaching experience. If selected for interview, please bring a copy of your professional license , driver's license, social security card, highest level of education (transcripts and degree) and names of three references to the appointment.
