St. Joseph Catholic School in Shelbyville, Indiana, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Principal effective July 1, 2023. A dynamic, Christ-centered leader is required to bring about continued programmatic, enrollment, and facilities growth. St. Joseph is an excellent academic institution with a strong commitment to the formation of our young people in the faith. The parish school has an enrollment of about 115 students in preschool through 5th grade. As the administrative head of the school, the principal has chief responsibility for the effective operation of the school according to the policies and guidelines of the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and under the guidance of the parish pastor and school commission. The duties of the next principal include: maintaining a strong Catholic identity, leadership of faculty and staff, curriculum development, budgeting and financial management, marketing and outreach and effective communication with students, parents, staff and the larger parish community. The candidate should be a strong leader, possessing excellent communication skills, and who through his or her own witness and example helps to foster a Catholic culture and identity committed to the spiritual, intellectual and social formation of each student.
