Job Overview: Arcadia University Department of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, practice-track faculty position in Public Health at the Assistant Professor level. The Department of Public Health at Arcadia University has accredited public health programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Programs offered within the Department include a BSPH with a concentration in Global Health, an undergraduate minor in Global Public Health, MPH with a Community Health concentration, and MPH dual degrees with the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and Counseling programs. An MPH online program is in development with an expected start of summer 2024. The department and College of Health Sciences, and University have goals centered on achieving health equity; advancing justice, equity, diversity and inclusion; and combatting anti-Black racism. Responsibilities: We seek a collaborative colleague with a background in community public health whose teaching and scholarly interests include a diverse area of expertise in public health, including health policy, program planning, research methods, and health equity. This colleague will contribute to the implementation of an online MPH, including teaching for this program as well as for the existing residential MPH and BSPH program and related department needs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. This 12-month practice-track position, with a 12-month teaching load, will prioritize teaching, advising and curricular engagement and management. Duties include teaching (for online MPH but also onsite for existing residential MPH and BSPH); mentoring and advising graduate and undergraduate students; professional, community and College/University service, and maintaining an active program of practice or research. Candidates should have a strong interest in teaching through varied modalities and strategies, student advising, and student engagement. Candidates whose experiences will contribute significantly to campus goals of greater equity and inclusion are particularly encouraged to apply. Qualifications: Candidates for the position must meet the following requirements: Terminal degree (PhD, DrPH) in public health or related field; Demonstrated and leading interest and ability in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels; Experience mentoring or advising graduate and undergraduate students; Strong project management experience in the health field; Evidence of independent and collaborative practice and scholarly innovation that can be maintained.
