Bruce & Merrilees has a great opportunity for you. If you meet the job requirements below, then we are interested in you! Bruce and Merrilees is looking for a Mechanic Apprentice for our service center in New Castle, PA. If you have a willingness to learn and can follow directions, we would like to talk with you. This person will apprentice under a skilled mechanic for a period of 2 to 3 years. Responsibilities Driving various vehicles in to repair/park: e.g., delivery truck, low boy, tractor-trailer Assist department to keep vehicles in good mechanical condition. Ensure safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Follow appropriate safety procedures. Follow the instructions given to you by your supervisor Perform basic repairs under the guidance of a mechanic Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes Put together vehicle maintenance records and documentation Help us to maintain our inventory Order new car parts by phone and online Travel to worksites to complete repairs. This can be out of town and overnights for a week at a time. Willingness to help with a can-do attitude Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent or Vocational/Technical School Training Attendance/Puncuality A desire to develop the skills that a mechanic needs to possess Strong customer service skills Ability to use basic hand tools Some familiarity with simple automotive tasks, techniques, and products Physically able to lift heavy objects Able to travel/out of town stays MUST have valid drivers license DOT knowledge Benefits Include : Excellent Company Culture!
