For more information, visit www.enesco.com . _______________________________________________________________ General Summary The corporate controller maintains the integrity and accuracy of the corporate accounting systems and reporting, risk management and compliance policies and controls, cash management, and insightful analysis of results. The position reports to the CFO, directly oversees the Enesco US accounting manager, Enesco US payroll manager, and Enesco North America credit and collections manager, and indirectly oversees divisional controllers for Enesco Canada, Enesco UK, Enesco France, and Enesco Asia. Principle Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions) Monthly Close and Reporting Review divisional closes and consolidate in compliance with GAAP, including timely balance sheet analysis and evaluation of adequacy of reserves. Ensure that functional leads are aware of meaningful variances in their area and can explain the causes. Reconcile accounting reporting with leading indicators from other systems so that managers have a reasonable understanding of how their day-to-day metrics will translate to actual results. Provide analysis of results that enables functional heads and top executives to understand key areas of risk or opportunity. Prepare consolidated documentation for internal monthly business review and bank compliance reporting. Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Compliance Work with Legal and HR in risk management activities including updating and communicating controls, implementing changes to compliance requirements, annually renewing insurance coverage, and responding to any occasional issues that may arise. Establish, communicate, maintain, and monitor appropriate internal financial controls. Manage annual audit process and publication of annual report by outside auditors. Oversee income tax compliance work by outside tax preparation firm. Cash Management Oversee maintenance of daily cash availability workbooks and direct movement of cash among entities to minimize excess cash held by operating entities while group is borrowing against line of credit. Ensure accounts payable processes provide timely visibility to payables and adhere to corporate payment guidelines. Annual Budgeting and Mid-year Forecast Based on the articulated strategy from executive management and functional operating plans, work with CFO, business heads, and FP&A to create detailed annual budget for necessary resources and expected results. Ensure that accounting processes are aligned with how the business needs to measure the results of the operating plans. Work with CFO, business heads, and FP&A to create mid-year forecast to update executive expectation for the year if the outlook differs from the budget based on year-to-date results, information in leading indicators, or macroeconomic changes. Job Specifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar field CPA strongly preferred Knowledge of all aspects of accounting functions Work experience of 10+ years in accounting and 5+ years in management at director level or higher Strong communication and organization skills, ability to meet deadlines Strategic and analytical thinker, able to relate financial results to operating actions (numbers and words) Experience directing processes and controls Sound decision-making ability Demonstrated ability to hire, train, develop, and motivate employees Ability to interact effectively with senior management Excellent PC skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, ERP, and Business Intelligence software Disclaimer The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
