SUMMARY - The Human Resources Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Leadership Team to support Ellis and its employees with its HR strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure that Ellis is operating in compliance with HR regulatory requirements, as well as following best practices and current trends in recruiting, retaining, managing and coaching staff, providing competitive compensation and benefits programs, and eliciting high levels of employee engagement, satisfaction, and inclusivity. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Collaborates closely with the Leadership Team to assess and address organizational Human Resource needs. Develops and implements strategies in support of the Ellis vision, mission, values, and strategic plans. · Ensures all HR regulatory administrative requirements are met effectively. Identifies gaps in administrative, policy, and procedural areas and recommends/implements solutions to resolve them. · Performs and oversees talent management functions, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, retention, development, strategy, and approach to total compensation, assessment, communication, and recommendations relative to employee satisfaction and engagement. · Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in all activities to assure a balanced and engaged workforce, reflective of the overall population. As appropriate, organizes training and education to optimize individual and team effectiveness. · Works closely with leaders and managers to ensure employee performance management is conducted consistently throughout the organization and in a manner conducive to positive employee performance and engagement. Provides guidance to management on employee performance issues and strategies used to coach and correct. · Sources, recommends, and utilizes appropriate external resources to assist with implementing strategic or tactical HR processes and procedures. · Serves as a resource for all employees and managers for compensation, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, leaves of absence, and employee relations issues. · Functions in all aspects of the role in a manner that reflects the professionalism expected by the organization including but not limited to respecting employee and organizational confidentiality. · Performs additional duties as requested based on business needs. QUALIFICATIONS · A minimum of five of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in a small to midsize non-profit environment. · Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing - Bilingual - Spanish speaking skills a must. · SHRM certification preferred. · Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, payroll/HRIS systems and database experience. · Demonstrated leadership/project management, time management, analytical and problem-resolution skills. · Ability to organize, maintain and follow through with detailed and required tasks with initiative, thoroughness and assertiveness when necessary. · Sound professional and personal judgment, initiative and resourcefulness.
