Description:
NETWORK ARCHITECT HUNTSVILLE, AL Seeking to hire a Network Architect to collaborate as part of contractor team and liaison with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to plan, design, evaluate, and select solutions for future enhancements at the MDA Advanced Research Center (ARC). This position requires an understanding of simulated ground test systems and the HWIL network required to support simultaneous testing approach. The successful candidate will develop and maintain technical plans, drawings, and documentation with roll back options for upgrades, installations, replacements, and migrations of ARC systems and wiring infrastructure given their ability to envision and design networks to deliver capabilities with continuous improvements and fulfill future mission requirements. The position requires support of day-to-day technical operations of the ARC to support network maintenance, updates, upgrades, and reconfiguration to include install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network equipment, cabling, and infrastructure devices including, but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls, and physical servers. Perform analysis and documentation of as-built cabling infrastructure (database updates, labeling, diagrams). Other duties include creating, updating and maintaining equipment rack elevation drawings to support maintenance activities and accreditation requirements with denoting wires, cables, fiber optics, conduits, patch panels, patch cables, transceivers, and media converters. This position will report to the Lead Engineer and Network Lead Engineer to ensure the proposed network engineering and redesign meets the requirements of the MDA. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering related field or equivalent experience Security+ CE and ability to maintain Experience designing and building communications network systems History of infrastructure management, design, testing and integration Understanding of Department of Defense security as it pertains to networking Knowledge of NetApps and Cisco hardware and systems Ability to adapt to change and provide courses of action for problem solving Ability to produce reports and metrics for presentations with advanced communication skills in English, oral, written, and presentation 9-15 years of related experience Preferred Skills: Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) Environment Experience in test and/or BMDS Expert Knowledge of Physical and Virtual Switching/ Routing environments, common network protocols, and dynamic routing Experience with design, documentation, and implementation of complex network solutions Experience with the design, installation and maintenance of fiber optic and copper data cabling infrastructures, including fiber path diagrams and fiber labeling Experience in designing, installing and maintaining EIA/ TIA 568A/ B cabling infrastructure Experience in data center design, rack layout, electrical requirements and cooling requirements Experience working in secured spaces Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. An active secret security clearance is required. This is a full-time, fully-funded position located in Huntsville, AL. EOE
