We require the incumbent to report to our local HQ. The candidate will sit at Sierra Instruments (Monterey, CA). This individual will report to the Accounting Manager of TASi Gas Flow. OUR BUSINESS: Sierra Instruments has been delivering market-leading gas flow measurement products for more than 45 years. As a part of TASi Gas Flow, Sierra Instruments designs and manufactures high-performance thermal mass flow controllers for nearly every gas, liquid, or steam application. We provide critical instrumentation for the gas flow control systems for all industries where accurate gas flow measurement is mission critical. Position overview: The Staff Accountant III is a full-time accounting position which requires a combination of education and professional experience to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant III must have functional expertise that lends itself to continued success in highly complex and challenging situations. This position will require experience driving continuous improvement while working in lockstep with all key functional areas of the business including Sales, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Shipping, Receiving and Quality. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded Ensures accuracy of entries to general ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger Provide technical support/guidance to support staff Prepare, maintain, and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and record month-end journal entries Prepare internal financial reports Maintain and report on Fixed Assets Maintain a written manual of procedures for area of responsibility Identify, suggest, and implement process improvements Support interim and annual financial statement audits Research discrepancies and recommend resolutions Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by Supervisor Position Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other business related degree required CMA or CPA, or eligible to test Advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices Knowledge of complex accounting transactions (PPV, Consolidations, FX) and standards (ASC 606, 842) Experience with an ERP in a manufacturing environment. Epicor experience is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, organizational skills, computer skills appropriate to the position, sense of urgency Microsoft Office products experience (Excel, Outlook, Word primarily), with an emphasis on Excel proficiency Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time Preferred Qualifications : Experience with financial analysis and reporting Experience with budgeting and forecasting Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations Personally exhibits a strong commitment to dependability and reliability with the ability to gain the confidence and respect of internal and external customers Hands on, self-starting, disciplined, and detail oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely Job Posted by ApplicantPro
