As a Migrant Services Specialist with the ARCHES Project, you will play a critical role in our Fuerza Campesina program, a program designed to provide culturally responsive services to the farmworker and agricultural labor industry. This position will implement a unified outreach initiative , assisting migrant workers and their families with navigating the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) system and medical services in the community. The Migrant Services Specialist is a grant-funded position renewable annually based on continuation of project funding. Candidates must submit applications by 04/28 to be considered for first-round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED; two years of experience working or volunteering in social service-related field. Preference will be given to those working specifically with migrant populations or agricultural workers. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on the job; satisfactory driving record for previous five years. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. This position is subject to MWVCAA's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Intermediate computer proficiencies with MS Office, Outlook, and Teams. Knowledge and experience in data collection. Keeps an active working relationship with: volunteers, social service providers, city officials, and county Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities To qualify as bilingual, staff must possess demonstrated abilities to speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish/English and pass a bilingual test. The posted wage is inclusive of a 2% bilingual differential. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Collaborates with labor and agriculture service providers to identify and serve employees working in the labor, and agriculture industry. Provides information about the Oregon Health Plan (OHP), medical services, housing, education, and other related services. Connects with the labor and agriculture employees and their families as they use community services, helping them navigate the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) application process and helping them to stay engaged in medical services. Conducts follow-up to ensure health coverage and medical needs are met. Performs regular outreach by traveling to labor and agricultural work sites and housing Occasionally assists the Homeless Outreach Team with performing similar duties. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Required to navigate stairs and rough terrain while carrying, pushing, and pulling supplies. Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand; walk; stoop, kneel, or Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Requires frequent personal mobility between residences and sites. Frequent local travel and occasional distance travel as needed. Manual dexterity for handling office WORK ENVIRONMENT Close quarters, often with a homeless/public or other clients Outdoor work environment with frequent interruptions and Variable and flexible work Driving in all weather conditions. Frequent trips into camps throughout Marion and Polk Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face coverings may be required. * COVID-19 Alert: This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus. I understand that if I am feeling unwell or have knowledge that I have had contact with an individual with a positive COVID-19 test, I will report it to my supervisor and XXXX@mwvcaa.org and self-isolate according to agency policies. I also understand that I must use available PPE and practice social distancing whenever possible according to agency policies.
