ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY Maintenance Worker Lake Limestone SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain grounds and facilities as part of a team for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by monitoring facilities for cleanliness; providing grounds maintenance; preserving quality road conditions; repairing and maintaining structures, buildings, and fences, and assisting with new construction projects on BRA property. Other responsibilities include landscaping; mowing; trimming trees; repairing and replacing pipes; providing general maintenance services as needed; and any other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to recognize the meaning of common two or three syllable words; ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations; ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. These detailed instructions normally allow little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may, at times, provide close and constant review while work is under way and when the assignment is completed. REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Work requires a level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Work requires one year of experience or a combination of advanced education and work experience. POSTING DATE : April 17, 2023 Open until filled. CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED : A valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record. SALARY : $16.58 to $21.14 per hour. This is a non-exempt position. BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE : The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
