We offer great local coffee from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters in a unique, brand new shared retail space with Flowers By Stella in Canandaigua, NY. All profits from North Star Coffee are reinvested into The Arc Ontario, providing even more innovative programs and services for people with disabilities or other challenges right here in Ontario County and the surrounding region. General Description: Assists with general operations of North Star Coffee. Perform routine food service activities related to serving food and beverages; perform cashiering duties in the sale of food and drink items to customers; maintain cleanliness of café facilities. Duties and Responsibilities: Greet customers, take orders. Prepare hot or cold beverages; Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages. Prepare facilities for the serving of food and beverage; stock necessary supplies. Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary. Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; wash and clean counters and tables. Portion and serve food to customers according to established procedures. Count money and prepare cash registers with appropriate amount and denominations of change. Assist with ordering items needed to replenish supplies. Maintain a clean and orderly dining area. Work Schedule: Monday and Saturday 8am-12:30pm (Flexibility to meet agency needs) Physical Demands: Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 30 pounds. Minimum Qualifications: High School Completion, some experience in food service preferred.
