Kaiser Transport Inc., the industry leader in the open-deck LTL transportation industry, is looking for a Driver Trainer to own and drive the orientation process. Reporting directly to the Driver Services Manager, the Driver Trainer provides weekly classroom instruction and hands-on training to qualified open-deck long haul drivers during orientation. Additionally, this position will assist in continuous training throughout the driver life cycle by making follow-up calls and training assessments. The Driver Trainer is an on-site position ideal for a current or former flatbed driver looking for the next stage of his or her career. The Driver Trainer will educate experienced long haul open-deck drivers around Kaiser policies, hours of service, securement, safety & compliance, DOT compliance, Kaiser culture, and Kaiser Policies and Procedures. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate classroom training Train and supervise new drivers while doing Yard or Local P&D work Administer driving tests Administer forklift certification and training Administer and grade written and practical tests Report daily to the Driver Services Manager Make follow-up calls to current drivers to assess training needs Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Verifiable open-deck securement experience (required) Strong interpersonal skills (required) Valid CDL-A with clean MVR (preferred) This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. This position will be eligible for overtime for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. This is primarily a first shift, Monday to Friday schedule, though some evenings may be required to observe or train in the Yard. The Driver Trainer will be eligible to receive Personal Time Off (PTO) and Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Coverage in accordance with Company Policies. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
