Road & Rail Services Call our Admin team at 205-432-XXXX to schedule an Interview!! Yard Hostler Driver Starting Pay: $16.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday & every other Saturday 1st shift - 7am-3:30pm 2nd Shift - 12pm-8:30pm Job Summary: Perform the essential functions required in moving, spotting, backing, coupling, uncoupling and Inspections of tractor trailers. Responsibilities: Jockey semi trailers throughout customer property Keep track of trailers moved Perform daily inspections on spotter trucks Maintain a safe work environment Other duties as required and assigned Requirements: Must be able to display the skills necessary to operate a tractor and trailer Intermodal Crane Experience is a plus, but not required Must be able operate the movement of equipment safely within the yard including safely backing up trailers to loading docks Proper coupling & uncoupling of tractors and trailers Perform inspection on all equipment, including but not limited to: Safety lights are working properly Air brake lines correctly connected Tractor and trailer inspected for flats and/or damage Comply with all industry, customer, and company safety regulations and operation procedures Work and Environmental Conditions: Ability to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including weekends and being on call Constantly required to use bending, twisting, walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout the entire work shift Must be able to work independently Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
