The YWCA of Greater Cleveland is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We are currently searching for a Lead Teacher for our Early Learning Center.The Early Learning Center provides high-quality early childhood education for children ages three to five years while empowering mothers and fathers to pursue their career and educational goals. The YWCA incorporates a therapeutic approach and two-generational model into the Early Learning Center. This innovative trauma-informed model assesses and identifies the social-emotional needs of the children, works with families to create case plans, achieve goals, prevents re-occurrence of homelessness, and empowers families to achieve and maintain the highest level of self-sufficiency.Some of the main duties of the Lead Teacher are to:· Actively provide quality care in accordance with ODJFS rules and regulations and Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP).· Create and implement lesson plans that align the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards with the curriculum and include individualization for each child.· Interact with parents to keep them informed of their child's growth and development, as well as answer questions and address concerns.· Document child observations and assessments, attendance and meal count sheets, as well as parent and other meeting notes.The Qualifications are: Minimum: · Required Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.· Currently enrolled and engaged in a Bachelor's program in an approved related field.· 2 years full-time teaching experience with young children, ages 3 to 5 years old. Preferred: · Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Special Education.· 3 years full-time teaching experience with young children, ages 3 to 5 years old. Requirements: · Current First Aid/CPR, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Certifications or attained through training during the first six months of employment.· Medical statement signed by physician or certified nurse practitioner required on first day of employment.· BCI and FBI background check and drug testing prior to employment.· Knowledge of ODJFS rules and regulations.· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.· Must be able to actively interact with children by being able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach above head.The YWCA is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
