Sourcing Specialist - Mandarin Speaking Vendor Management and Risk Mitigation: Execute vendor management strategies & action plans to optimize value and mitigate supply risk through the existing vendors. Negotiate commercial terms and resolve commercial issues with existing vendors Track vendor performance in the areas of quality, delivery and cost. Partner with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to identify the root cause of raw material quality issues and working cross-functionally to propose and implement solutions. Sourcing for New Products: Collaborate with Product Design, Engineering and Manufacturing to understand new material and component requirements in detail. Utilize that in-depth understanding to create sourcing approach. Prepare and issue requests for proposal (RFPs) or quotation (RFQs). Identify and assess candidate vendors for materials, components and services. Collaborate with key stakeholders to produce scoring criteria for vendor evaluation. Generate recommendations for supplier selection that meet the business needs and gain buy-in from stakeholders. Execute implementation process for onboarding selected vendor(s); including contracting, specifications and quality reporting, logistics, sample runs, and import/export compliance. Supply Chain Planning: Work together with Demand Planning, Production and Customer Service to coordinate material purchases. Provide analytical support related to material supply chain for production scheduling and order fulfillment strategies. Explore transportation modes, order quantities, lead times and replenishment triggers to optimize tradeoffs between time, carrying cost, inventory risk and production efficiency.
