We serve our community by providing employment development services and placement assistance for employment. Our programs are supported with profits generated through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores. Function: Under very general supervision, will be primarily responsible for Human Resources efforts to identify, attract, recruit, hire and invest with those individuals who are qualified for positions within Alabama Goodwill Industries. In conjunction with the VP of Organizational Development, works to create and maintain a well-organized and effective employment process that enables positive synergy between Human Resources and all departments in the company. A critical component of this position is to support the VP of Organizational Development in a variety of initiatives that contribute to the retention and job satisfaction of those employed. Specific Duties: Works with AGI's hiring managers to identify employment needs and to coordinate the proper documentation of open positions including confirmation of current job descriptions and authorized requisitions. Prepares recruiting progress reports for management regularly and when requested. Works with VP of Organizational Development to determine recruitment strategy for open positions. This includes pursuing traditional and creative avenues to identify and attract possible qualified candidates, building and maintaining partnerships and relationships with local job connections, colleges/universities, and placement agencies. Coordinates all weekly job openings with Director of Talent and Culture, prioritizing on business needs. Publishes list and makes community contacts (including newspaper, online web-based advertisements) on a regular basis or as required. Monitors staffing actions from beginning to end. This includes but is not limited to posting, screening and interviewing candidates for open positions and referring the most qualified candidates to the hiring manager for interview. Conducts reference checks on candidates. Keeps candidates and hiring managers updated on the hiring process. Communicates job offer to selected candidate. Collects, tracks and manages requisitions and process. Manages staffing actions in accordance with AGI process to include team member development, key labor and business metrics. Administers and provides recommendation to customers and VP of Organizational Development based on Staffing, Promotion and Transfer-related SOPs. Prepares and maintains accurate hiring records in accordance with job requirements, applicable statutes and accreditation requirements; i.e., I-9s and identification, W-4s, credential verifications, background check records and drug test results, among others. Supports the process of personnel data in a timely manner in accordance with the State of Alabama, the Department of Labor, and Agency standards including any accreditation requirements. Manages AGI's pre-employment drug-testing program for the organization. Produces reports including recruiting progress reports of hiring and vacancy numbers as well as a variety of other personnel reports, as required. Manages new hire orientation process to ensure new team members are acclimated to Goodwill's Mission, Core Values, Guiding Principles, policies, and procedures. Ensures training material is current and accurate. Ensures the employment sections of our webpages are current and the internal webpage appropriately reflects vacancies. Ensures internal and external applicants have the ability to obtain current applications electronically and have the means to apply for employment with AGI. Manages appropriate scheduling of first day of employment, completion of timely and accurate new hire paperwork and all relevant training material. Ensures the investment and integrity of the on boarding process for all new hires in AGI. Addressing of team member new hire training issues as a result of reviewing hiring information. Champions the new hire training process through the completion of training checklists and signed job descriptions to ensure team members are receiving appropriate orientation in their work units. Using the information gathered during the process, identifies trends and current or potential team member relations issues and brings those to the attention of the VP of Organizational Development for regular reporting and resolving. Reviews, teaches, coaches and communicates to appropriate hiring managers on the specific expectations of the hiring and on boarding process. Provides critical feedback to training team on improvement or recognition of current onboarding tools. Design and ensures the alignment of all Human Resources SOPs involving the hiring and onboarding of AGI team members. Administers and Manages AGI's Exit Interviews and Process. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge: Employment advertising to attract quality talent Basic office practices and procedures. Basic Personnel practices and law. Windows Operating System, ADP Workforce Now HRMS; Applicant Pro ATS, Microsoft Word, Works, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Publisher and Outlook. Skills: Typing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong insight and ability to assess character and viability of candidates and exercising discretion accordingly. Internet recruiting. Practical knowledge of screening, interviewing and reference check procedure. Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Ability: Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Perform day-to-day responsibilities independently and with minimum supervision. Ability and flexibility to work on multiple tasks. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with visitors, team members and team leaders. Handle position in an efficient, organized, and courteous manner. Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a clean, neat, well-groomed appearance. Ability to deal with the general public and overall workforce in regular and unstructured settings with a high degree of sensitivity, cordiality and finesse. Training & Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred. Additional course work in various HR disciplines a plus. 5 or more years of employment/recruiting experience in human resources. Nonprofit and/or religious organization employment experiences highly preferred. In-house recruitment experience hiring retail, manufacturing or equivalent positions.
