The Arc, Oneida- Lewis Chapter is seeking responsible adults to join our Respite Care Home team! The Respite Specialist will provide respite at our site-based facility for family member of adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. This respite is mainly at the Respite Care Home but could be community activities like shopping, movies, and other community events. Day, evening and over night shifts are available. The staff will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals. Responsibilities: Implementation of the plans and activities provided by the supervisor of the assigned program. Ensuring supervision of assigned persons at all times Becoming familiar with the individuals' safeguards and provide any change of information and/or concerns to the program's coordinator. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the person we support, working with the person and other team members to help determine and achieve valued outcomes for the individuals Qualifications: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus - but not required High School Diploma or G.E.D.
