Computational Fluid Dynamics Developer/Analyst

CFD Research has an immediate opening for a talented Computational Fluid Dynamics Developer/Analyst. This individual will support the development of modeling, simulation, analysis, and design tools and workflows for multiphase flows. This individual will work as part of the Aerospace and Defense Solutions Division supporting R&D programs for NASA, DARPA, and DOD. Other responsibilities will include the support development of, and analysis with, advanced numerical computational fluid dynamics tools to perform complex, large-scale simulations. Requirements: MS/PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science, or similar discipline. 4 or more years of experience in development of computational fluid dynamic models or advanced numerical methods (graduate work included) Proven ability to engage multiple stakeholders and provide recommendations to technical decisions Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to devise creative software design solutions Proficiency with C++, Fortran, Python, and shell languages Working knowledge of software development practices, including git software configuration management Excellent proactive communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to successfully complete assigned tasks with general supervision and oversight Ambitious, hardworking, and driven towards continuous growth Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance Preferred Qualities: Experience with multiphase flows (gas-granular/solid preferred) Familiarity with any of the following gas-granular simulation methods is a plus: Euler-Euler, Euler-Lagrange, Discrete Element Method (DEM), CFD-DEM Location: This position to be worked onsite in Huntsville, AL.
