Mechanical Engineer - Junior

Description:
The position will support multiple facets of the engineering design, production, and test & evaluation tasks for a research focused task. Candidate will participate in all levels of R&D efforts from concept development to delivering final products. The successful candidate in this role will enjoy working the full life-cycle of engineering tasks, with a focus on developing innovative ways to deliver prototype hardware fabricated at our Scottsboro Facility. The initial tasking of the role will be hardware design, fabrication, and testing. The candidate will use CAD (currently using Solidworks) for concept development and design. In addition to the design work, the position will work closely with production staff to ensure the fabrication efforts meet project specifications and are progressing in order to meet schedule. Some sample tasking will include: Develop and execute project milestones and objectives by reviewing project proposals Balances customer requirements, schedule, and cost within the boundaries of the contract's terms Design, construct, and execute tests to support R&D contracts (typically in support of propulsion or related technologies) Preparation of project status reports incorporating both technical and programmatic updates (using data obtained to date and project status sheets) Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar) from an accredited university Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and Maintain) a SECRET Clearance Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of experience but new graduates with good internship or fabrication experience will be considered Position will require knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing practices as well as a desire to be hands on with respect to hardware development Experience using Solidworks and/or LabView is a plus Labview experience is a plus Job Posted by ApplicantPro
