Job Summary: Under general supervision, cleans the interior of transit buses and other vehicles; and related duties that may be assigned. Essential Job Functions: Cleans interior of transit buses including floors, seats, side panels, overhead panels, and windows using appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies. Inspects interior of bus for cut seats, loose handrails, passenger mishaps, damaged advertising posters, obvious mechanical or apparatus defects, and reports such to the Lead Cleaner or delegate. Brings any unsafe practice or condition to the attention of the Maintenance Supervisor or delegate. Removes stains and graffiti; deodorizes and disinfects bus interior; and removes litter from bus interior. Maintains decals on the buses; changes information posters as directed; and checks operator compartment for appropriate supplies and equipment and replaces as necessary. Moves District vehicles from parking area to cleaning bay and returns vehicles to parking area. Accurately maintains daily cleaning records. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge Customer and Personal Service ' Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Abilities Near Vision ' The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Oral Comprehension ' The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Static Strength ' The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Trunk Strength ' The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. Extent Flexibility ' The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Manual Dexterity ' The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Qualifications: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job are acceptable, which typically include: High school diploma or GED. At least one year of professional cleaning or janitorial experience, with preference given to experience detailing vehicles. A valid Oregon driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the District's insurance carrier. Compensation and Work Schedule: This position is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible for the regular ATU benefits package. The pay rate begins at $20.33 per hour. Work is performed at night in internal and external environments with exposure to all weather conditions and challenging situations.
