The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking someone who is part teacher, part guardian, part administrative phenom and part programmatic innovator. That's a whole lot of parts! But our new Executive Director of School-Age Programs must be a lot of things to a lot of people. They must be a mentor and educator to the hundreds of children we oversee, they must be a communicator and trustee for the parents of those children and they must be a responsible administrator, budgeting ace and inclusive manager for the good of their employees, co-workers and supervisors. If you can't tell, we have high hopes, high standards and high regards for this position. That's because the Executive Director of School-Age Programs is responsible for leading the development and implementation of before and after school programs as well as school day off camps at multiple locations across our service area in Lafayette, Boulder, Longmont, Johnstown, Loveland, Fort Collins and Cheyenne, Wyoming. This Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing school-age childcare curriculum and programming at multiple locations, hiring, on-boarding and providing leadership for staff, developing program operating procedures and standards while ensuring financial sustainability. This Executive Director will work hand in hand with our Executive Director of Summer Day Camp to ensure continuity of programming and quality standards between programs year-round. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be Director qualified by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care division Bachelor's degree in related field Minimum 5 years of program management experience, preferably in a Day Camp setting in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency Minimum 5 years experience directly supervising staff Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens. Ability to work with a wide range of age groups, demographics and have ability to collaborate well with a number of groups and individuals Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Experience in multiple site management, understanding of child development principals and developmentally appropriate practices, understanding of state licensed program, as well as experience with fiscal management and staff development. Ability to meet YMCA driver requirements. Ability and desire to embrace the mission of the YMCA. Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000, based on experience. This position is year-round, full-time exempt.
