As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair projects of electrical systems and components specifically focused on the Telecommunications, Wireless, Utility and UPS markets. Reporting Relationship: Journeyman Electricians will report to the Electrical Manager/Master Electrician. Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for building & grounds and wire mold Perform the installation of transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, coils, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipment Perform installations of backup generator systems Determine modifications required when obstructions are met while installing electrical systems Read electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics. Develops strong line of communication with Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and within all departments utilizing electrical service Ability to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, and/or verbal instructions Proficient in the use of standard electrician's tools and measuring/testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, and testing lamp Perform other duties and assignments as necessary Requirements: Skills/Knowledge Strong knowledge of DC power equipment, specifically in telecommunications, switchgear & control, and UPS industries Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipment Knowledge of electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, code and equipment Knowledge of local and national electrical code Demonstrates proper use of material handling equipment Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements Adheres to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy Personal Attributes Demonstrates honesty and integrity in work and relationships Demonstrates innovation/creativity in work Possesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and client goals/objectives Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations Focused on collaboration and teamwork for the mutual success of the company and its employees Travel Expectations: Up to 75% depending on customer needs Posting Qualifications: Ability to work at various heights Ability to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basis Ability to maintain a valid driver's license Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
