Eligible Candidates include those who are: Firefighter/EMT-B Firefighter/EMT-P Paramedic Firefighter/EMT (Paramedic Preferred) earn a competitive salary of $59,253.75 - 66,690.62/year , based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. We also offer a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 employer match, life insurance, disability, access to the city's recreation fitness center, employee assistance program, educational assistance, 11 paid holidays and 2 designated paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave , and an active wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and financial health. Optional PAT Run-through (Practice) - at Fire Training Field ( 2703 Veterans Drive, Pearland, TX 77584 ) on 5/6/2023 at 9:00am Written Test - at Fire Training Field ( 2703 Veterans Drive, Pearland, TX 77584 ) on 5/20/2023 at 8:00am PAT (to be conducted immediately for those who pass Written Test) - 5/20/2023 Interview Panel - Tentative Dates: 5/22/23, 5/25/23, 5/26/23, 5/31/23 Applicants must meet minimum qualifications outlined below to be considered for employment: High School Diploma or equivalent Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Firefighter Certification Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Certification Valid Texas Driver's License Must be able to pass an online behavioral assessment, physical agility test, background investigation, NFPA physical and drug screen. *** To avoid any delays or rejections of applications, please make note of the following: UPLOAD your certifications (TCFP, DSHS pocket certification) to this application under ' Resume, Certifications, License and any other pertinent' PLEASE USE YOUR LEGAL NAME ON THE APPLICATION *** Salary : $59,253.75 - 66,690.62 annually, based on average 2756 hours. Paramedics may be eligible for certification pay of $207.69/biweekly. Education, experience and additional certification pay may be considered. Please visit the link below for requirements on transferring to Texas from an IFSAC jurisdiction. https://www.tcfp.texas.gov/services/transferring-to-texas Candidate Preference: Candidates will be selected for testing based in order of the following preference: Those certified by Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) as a Firefighter and the Department of State Health Services as a Paramedic. Those certified by Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) as a Firefighter and currently enrolled in Paramedic school. Must be able to obtain Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic certification within three (3) months of hire. Those certified by the Department of State Health Services as a Paramedic.
