Job Title: BIM Modeler Department: Engineering Reports to: Design Coordinator GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary) The BIM Modeler provides safe, "Best for Project" solutions for complex projects, while ensuring regulatory compliance as required for engineering deliverables. The BIM Modeler is responsible for collaborating with all disciplines and team members in developing safe and effective designs. The BIM Modeler collaborates with project delivery as appropriate and ensures quality checks of the work, teaches, mentors, and ensures continuous improvement of standards, toolboxes, and workflows. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES HEALTH AND SAFETY Work in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations for Cementation Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met by appropriate design and use of technology Be a champion for safety, advocating safe behavior while incorporating safety into the designs produced by the group GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This description lists the core responsibilities and duties of the position. Additional duties deemed to be within the incumbent's capabilities, on an as required basis, might be assigned by management. Collaborate with other members of the project team to ensure accurate modeling and coordination of steel structures using Revit and Advance Steel. Develop and maintain Revit families and templates for steel detailing. Ensure that all models and drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and company standards. Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure that their requirements and expectations are met. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position has the requirement for occasional travel to conferences, project sites, offices, and to conduct shop reviews Travel period may range from one day to several weeks and may include overseas assignments EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 2 years of experience in Revit Familiarity with Advance Steel is a plus Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field is a plus Strong understanding of BIM principles and practices Knowledge of steel detailing, fabrication, and erection processes Proficiency in creating and modifying 3D models in Revit and Advance Steel Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as AISC, ASCE, and ASTM Experience with other software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Inventor, and Navisworks is a plus Experience in design of Underground Mining or Heavy Industrial Infrastructure is preferred Use available internal and external resources to develop knowledge of structural systems and bring value to the design team Understanding of 3D parametric modeling methods and the benefits of integrated modeling SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Safety oriented Collaborative team player and leader Professional Effective communicator Engaged Innovative Self-starter who is responsible for own work and those of the team Positively reacts to change Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in an engineering capacity Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and to set priorities and manage competing demands while working independently Detail-oriented with recognition of the importance of clear, concise, consistent documentation Supporting a Diverse & Inclusive Workforce At Cementation Americas, we believe in diversity and inclusion.
