Located in the very heart of downtown San Diego, the Horton Grand Hotel is one of the most charming urban boutique hotels the city has to offer.We're seeking an experienced sales professional who is revenue driven, service-focused, and leads with integrity and empathy.Reporting to the general manager, this role will provide leadership and guidance in all matters relating to the sales and marketing of the property. This is a unique opportunity to design and implement a sales and marketing strategy to attract all market segments to maximize revenue. Tasks: Manage group accounts to maximize business potential. Identify and resolve customer complaints and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations. Identify new business that fits sales parameters, which includes negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Prepare and update a sales action plan indicating all future efforts, goals, and objectives outlining sales efforts to develop and grow hotel's penetration within the market. Demonstrates proficiency in hotel sales protocol, i.e. responding to RFP's, responding to leads in Hotel Planner, CVENT, and working with the SDTA Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports and uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets. Manage relationships with external social media firms. Develop annual & seasonal rate strategies for the property. Develop and execute marketing plans to engage a wider guest audience. Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts such as city-wides, corporations, and local government. Consults with potential clients to understand their needs and identifies and suggests services that will meet those needs. Follow consistent sales office procedures by updating the account database; record account activity, call reports, traces, and history. Self-motivated to consistently meet or exceed sales goal and to ensure quotas are met Partner with Behind the Scenes, the Food and Beverage management group (rooms in conjunction with onsite events) and ensure a cohesive, aligned relationships Skills and experience Required: Must have hotel experience Hotel Planner and Delphi program experience Background in city wide events and CVB/Convention Center groups Responding to RFP Room blocks and contracts What's in it for you?
