Product Engineer - Intervention Team

Department: Engineering Reports to: Engineering Manager, Coiled Tubing and Smart Tools Location: Anaheim, CA (92807) Basic Function: Seventy-five (75%) of the time is in direct support of the invention/creation of engineering designs, analyzing prototypes, testing, and field demonstrations of both internally and externally funded intervention projects/products. Twenty-five (25%) of the time requires support for ongoing field activities including troubleshooting, problem identification, and resolution. Responsibilities: Work autonomously . Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. Design, develop, and enhance new and existing products/product lines. Create designs that resolve complex technical challenges requiring industry knowledge. Engineered designs with stress calculations and FEA. Produce excellent drawings for manufacturing and assembly. Communicate with machine shops to solve problems and improve processes. Machine and develop complex prototypes. Manufacture, modify, or fix production parts. Travel to the field to run jobs, solve problems, and improve products. Mentor and train new engineers. Build and sustain positive cooperative working relationships. Assist in maintaining and/or writing QA/QC procedures. Training program includes familiarization with oil field Coiled Tubing practices, software analysis training, and multiple visits to operational sites. Substantial design experience including the use of software design packages, prototyping, shop and field testing, and ongoing product improvement. Work Location/Travel: Domestic and foreign travel required Must have a valid passport. 80-90% of the time spent is in an office environment. Intermittent performance of tests in a shop environment during office hours; full safety equipment required. May be requested to visit the oilfield in the event of field failure or introduction of new products. Visit to rig site is typically for 1-5 days followed by 5-7 days in the shop.
