s u n d a n c e Job Title: LIFT MAINTENANCE LEVEL II Department: Mountain Operations Reports To: Lift Maintenance Supervisor Rate of Pay: $20.00 /Hr Shift: Part Time, Day shifts, 8:00 - 4:30, Seasonal April - May & Oct - Dec, Night shifts 3:30 - 10:00 pm, Dec - April FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly Prepared By: Lift Maintenance Manager Prepared Date: 11.28.2018 Approved By: Director of Mountain Operations Approved Date: 11.01.2022 SUMMARY: Lift Maintenance level II candidate will be someone who is mechanically minded. Candidate will enjoy working outdoors and in extreme conditions. Candidate must be self motivated and interested in hard work. Candidate will be able to perform all job duties and responsibilities as outlined below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. LIFT MAINTENANCE Assist Lift Maintenance Manager & Supervisor in seasonal maintenance of all lifts. Has shown proficiency in all level I duties and responsibilities. 1+ years of experience as level I or equivalent experience. Perform major preventive maintenance and repair on ski lifts during non-operating season. Must be comfortable working from heights while on lift towers and work carts. Utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for task. Must be able to hook up Aux motor and have working knowledge of Aux on all lifts. Competence in trouble shooting lift issues. Is expected to work under lift maintenance supervisor or lift maintenance level III during line work season. Must be able to recognize odd sounds and to identify potential issues with lifts. Must be familiar with ANSI code and all lift regulations and protocols. Be comfortable with working on all 5 lifts. Perform work with little to no supervision. Being able to work any mechanic shift (day or night). Being able to oversee lift operations. Supervise lift operations during night skiing and night events. Possess the necessary social skills to work a broad based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Keep all information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement and furthermore support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards. Protect Sundance assets. Be an ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory requirements. ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats. DRESS CODE Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard: All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance. Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty. Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed). Blue jeans are permitted. Men's shirts must be tucked in. Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle. A tailored fit is required of all clothing. Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited. Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females. Bare midriffs are prohibited. Proper footwear for your department is required. Dress sandals are permitted for females. Flip flops are prohibited in all areas. T-shirts must be in good condition and posses appropriate Sundance logos. Hats are not permitted indoors. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must pass our insurance companies driving qualifications. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined. Must pass off Snowmobile Operation training program through Mountain Manager. EXPERIENCE DESIRED Previous experience with lift operations. Previous experience working with public. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Use of a 2-way radio occasionally required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
