THE ROLE: We're on a mission to find our next great Staff Accountant to work with us in our historic headquarters in downtown Syracuse at the Clinton Exchange (named for the creative exchange of ideas within). In this role you will provide essential cash management and treasury operations support for shopping center properties. Working with Home Office Management, shopping center staff, and other members of Pyramid's finance operations, plays a key role in the accuracy and relevance of the financial information necessary for the success of the financial operations of their assigned centers. The Staff Account will work with our external auditors to complete annual financial statement audits as well as be a vital point of contact for banking and creditor relationships. What Will You Do? Performs key cash management/ treasury functions for assigned properties including: Monitors cash position and requirements on a daily basis. Projects and manages near- and long-term cash inflows vs. needs based on most current budget and reforecast information. Performs treasury operations as required for handling transfer, wire, and check processing timely and accurately. Has primary responsibility for the maintenance of all accounting records including the General Ledger and subsidiary systems including AP, journal entries, fixed assets, deferred charges, and construction. Continuously monitors accounts payable with responsibilities for input, review, processing, and analysis. Develops and maintains working relationships with members of the Finance and Revenue Management Departments as well as each shopping center's management team. Maintains a strong environment of internal controls over cash positions and financial reporting processes in accordance with Management directives and Company policy, including: Assist with the design and establishment of internal control procedures and policies. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all GL and AP input. Daily, monthly and annual reconciliations as required. Assisting with the budgeting and reforecasting of shopping center properties with frequent periodic updates regarding variances and shopping center performance. Will maintain strong relationships with banks and creditors to ensure compliance with all banking and mortgage loan agreements. Ensure all bank transactions are valid, processed timely, and recorded accurately. IDEAL CHARACTERISTICS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business related field Experience in private or public accounting preferred Solid accounting foundation, interpersonal relations, and analytical skills are critical. Strong working knowledge of Excel, and all MS Office applications. Experience with Yardi Voyager, or other real estate enterprise applications a plus.
