Position Summary Concordia University is seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Assistant position within their cheer program. This part-time position will be located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and be confirmed enrollees in a Concordia University graduate education program in good academic standing. The cheer program consists of NAIA Small Co-Ed and All-Girl/STUNT teams. This position will provide support for the entire cheer program that can include practices, competitions, and recruiting. This position can be a one-year or two-year position, depending on the graduate degree program they select from Concordia University. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with general management of program: team travel, meals, study tables, uniforms/gear, strength and conditioning, tumbling, community service, camps, clinics Handle recruiting responsibilities on and off-campus, recruit communication, campus visits, general recruit management Create engaging content for team social media accounts Assist coaching staff with practice, competition preparation and execution May participate in athletic department or program fundraising, marketing, promotional and alumni relations activities Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrates effective leadership, organizational skills, and is a self-starter Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment Able to present a Christian and professional manner Candidates should possess strong written and oral communications skills All candidates should possess an ability to meet deadlines Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field required Enrollment in a Concordia University graduate education program required Experience with collegiate cheerleading. Preference given for NAIA and/or STUNT experience.
