Associates degree in a Human Services related field preferred. Peer Certification with relevant experience required; current credential as a Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Recovery Advocate (CPRA) required. Lived experience of substance use and knowledge of recovery required; may also include relevant knowledge as it pertains to co-occurring disorders; i.e., mental health disorders. Knowledge and experience applying principles of SUD peer support preferred. Experience in Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) specifically providing Peer Empowerment services preferred. Possess the ability to coordinate and network with community based services and recovery supports. Must be able to be reached by phone and have a vehicle to transport and complete agency business. Computer competency required. Must demonstrate understanding and empathy for individuals with substance use disorder(s) and mental health concerns. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a team environment with excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding staff/persons supported issues. Ability to work in a changing environment, be flexible and demonstrate knowledge of and ability to work with internal/external stakeholders inclusive of local integrated system of (SUD) treatment and mental health services. Valid NYS Driver's License in accordance with Agency policies.
