It's a great time to be in Pflugerville! The City of Pflugerville is offering a one-time $1500 incentive payment to new hires in the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator position. The incentive will be paid 30 days after the hire date.We are seeking our next Treatment Plant Operator I, II, and III (Wastewater) to join our team! As a Treatment Plant Operator I, II, III (Wastewater) for the City, you will be responsible for operations of the Wastewater Treatment plant, composting, Recycle Center, and maintenance duties to ensure quality control in accordance with federal, state, and municipal regulatory policies and standards. Treatment Plant Operator I (Wastewater) - $42,938 - $54,746 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assists in preparing and maintaining plant records, both operational and regulatory. Performs the required operational laboratory tests. Advises the Wastewater Treatment Foreman of needed maintenance in the plant. Responsible for the implementation of appropriate safety standards. Performs daily checks of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Certification Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 0-2 years experience in operating and maintaining Wastewater Treatment plants. Grade D Wastewater Treatment License of the ability to attain a D Wastewater Treatment License within 1 year. Valid Class C Texas driver's license with the ability to obtain a class B. commercial license within 6 months. Treatment Plant Operator II (Wastewater) - $47,339 - $60,358 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assists in preparing and maintaining plant records, both operational and regulatory. Perform the required operational laboratory tests. Advises the Wastewater Treatment Foreman of needed maintenance in the plant. Responsible for the implementation of appropriate safety standards. Perform daily checks of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Other duties assigned Education/Experience/Certification Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years' experience operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants. Grade C Wastewater Treatment License Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with the ability to obtain class B commercial license within 6 months. Treatment Plant Operator III (Wastewater) - $54,801 - $69,870 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Directly supervises the wastewater treatment crew in the wastewater treatment plants' required operational and maintenance duties. Performs annual performance evaluations of each member of the treatment crew. Assists the Wastewater Treatment Foreman in determining the hiring and termination of treatment personnel Assists in preparing annual budgets for the treatment plant. Assists in preparing and maintaining plant records, both operational and regulatory. Other duties as assigned Education/Experience/Certification Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years experience in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants. Grade B Wastewater Certificate. Benefits Overview: Flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work from home. 10 hours of vacation leave per month, 3 weeks per year. 8 hours of sick leave per month, 12 days per year. Sick leave incentive pay- Employees are compensated in December each year in the amount of 25% of their unused sick leave that they have accumulated during the preceding fiscal year. Medical insurance and benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 50% dependent health benefits premium contribution. Dental benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 24 hours of paid personal holiday leave each fiscal year. 10 wellness hours each fiscal year for eligible preventive and mental health services. Longevity pay of $8 per month beginning with the first anniversary and will be paid on a separate paycheck in December of each year. Retirement plan includes a 7% contribution of an employee's gross salary to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a City contribution match of 2 to 1 (14%) at retirement. Retirement eligibility requires 5 years of service at age 60 or 20 years of service at any age. Employees also have an additional retirement fund option to participate in a 457 plan. Long-Term Disability is employer-paid and covers 60% of the employee's salary up to $7,500. Military leave provides up to 15 days of paid leave per fiscal year for eligible employees. Education reimbursement assistance up to $2,000 per fiscal year. Employer-paid basic term life insurance policy two (2) times an employee's base salary, up to $325,000 maximum. 40 paid service hours are available to volunteer within our community. Up to 160 hours of paid parental leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption, foster care, or other legal placement to care for and bond with the child.
