Position Summary: Perform and conduct on and off-site classroom and practical instruction in support of company products using AH courseware, audio visual aids and practical means Primary Responsibilities: 1. Technical Instruction (Classroom and Laboratory): 80% Deliver technical instruction to customers and company personnel on Airbus Helicopter products and associated equipment. This includes theory and practical exercises for classes several weeks in duration. Administer course exams/quizzes and homework to trainees. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications. Determines effectiveness of training programs by monitoring feedback and making improvements as necessary. Maintain proficiency IAW changes in technology and maintenance procedures. Act as the "face of Airbus Helicopters" and host to trainees while onsite, ensuring they receive an excellent customer experience. Train and mentor new instructors Maintain qualifications equal to or greater than Referent Instructor for at least two aircraft type. 2. Support Equipment: 10% Develop and maintain training devices, mock-ups and tools used during practical instruction. Maintain an organized classroom and hangar environment. 3. Administration: 10% Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of required training documentation / student transcripts and submitting in a timely manner at the conclusion of the course. Incorporate revisions and modifications to course material IAW ASB, SB and other relevant documentation. Assist in the development of homework, quizzes and exams questions. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred: BS/BA degree in relevant field Experience: Required: A minimum of three years of Instructor experience on Helicopters. Minimum five (5) years' experience of field maintenance on Airbus helicopter products with at least 3 years on the TBD Airframe. Requires extensive knowledge of helicopter mechanical theory, field maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspection, testing and troubleshooting, blueprints, wiring diagrams, inspection guides and engineering/technical directives. Experience is required in ground operations/handling of the assigned aircraft. Preferred: Bi-lingual capability (French/German/Spanish). Airbus Instructor experience. Licensure/Certifications: Required: FAA Airframe & Powerplant or equivalent License from other CAA authority Preferred: FAA Inspection Authorization Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required: Aircraft technician with Helicopter maintenance experience. Aircraft systems, flight characteristics and maintenance techniques Preferred: Formal instructor experience. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong ability to deliver information using a variety of techniques so that students with different experience levels and backgrounds are able to grasp and retain the information presented. Ability to command an audience and hold their attention throughout training sessions. Ability to work with translators. Technical Systems Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite / Adobe Pro SmartScreen/Video Projection Equipment Travel Required: 20% Domestic and International Citizenship: Authorized to Work in the US Clearance: None Decision Making, Complexity: Ability to analyze student experience and knowledge base and customize teaching approach to maximize learning. Organizational information: Reports to Head of Technical Training. This position is part of Customer training and is under the Vice President of Customer support: Direct Reports: Exempt : 0 Non-exempt : 0 Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Responsible for creating a positive customer experience and to deliver an excellent training experience. The Technical Training organization trains roughly 400-500 technicians a year across most of Airbus Helicopters products. Nature of Contacts: Involved Communication on a regular Basis with internal and external parties Physical Requirements: Onsite: 80% Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Able to see and read helicopter instruments.
