Kimberton Whole Foods is hiring a Bulk Category Manager at our Distribution Center located in Downingtown! Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. This position will be Sunday-Thursday from either 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm. Location: Kimberton Whole Foods Distribution Center, 1208 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA 19335 Please note: This is not the KWF retail location in Downingtown, this is a separate location nearby at our Distribution Center/Commissary Kitchen. Pay range: $18.00-$24.00 an hour depending on experience. The Bulk Category Manager will keep all store locations in stock on all items that are ordered from the Distribution Center. The BCM is responsible for ordering products from various vendors, packaging products, and labelling products. The BCM will work with the Distribution Center team to coordinate and oversee packaging process, maintain standards & efficiencies, and fulfil store product requests. The Bulk Category Manager's primary responsibilities: CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provide consistent and professional internal customer service to all KWF team members through various communication channels. Follow through on all KWF customer feedback questions. Research products, ingredients and issues as needed. PURCHASING & MERCHANDISING: Negotiate with suppliers for favorable prices, terms, quality, and delivery. Generate Purchase Orders to fulfill operation inventory needs. Review and/or sign off on all invoices. Participate in setting and achieving margin goals. Monitor ingredients to best serve KWF product standards. Evaluate vendors, new products, and their placement. Investigate and recommend new suppliers for current and/or new products. Research and plan department promotions and sales. Ensure that product mix meets varied customer dietary needs and requests. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and distributors. Oversee store sets and promotions by working with the purchasing manager and merchandiser. Work with KWF marketing department to ensure signage for base items and promotion items is accurate and timely. Work with all stores to create and maintain a strong demo program, especially on promotion items. PRODUCT & OPERATION MAINTENANCE: Maintain a pricing strategy for maximum sales and department growth. Maintain margins and inventory turns consistent with industry standards. Maintain appropriate product mix in relation to both product movement and relative item uniqueness. Manage product movement in relationship to pricing and package size. Coordinate store direct purchasing based on product movement and feasibility. Coordinate store ordering procedure and establish SOP in conjunction with Director of Purchasing to ensure maximum efficiency. Manage all credit requests as necessary. Fulfill Inventory Transfer Requests for all store locations three times per week. Support bulk operation to fully service stores as a priority to ensure that KWF stores are always stocked on product. Support overall KWF DC function as needed and as directed by KWF DC Manager. Performs other duties as necessary. KEY ATTRIBUTES & PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES: Firm grasp of margin pricing. Communications skills--good listener, clear instructions. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands. Regular, predictable attendance. Experience in the retail business is a plus. Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job. Full Sense Range (vision, hearing and sense of smell) - The ability to read product labels, distinguish color & smell for quality control. Lifting, Gripping and Carrying Objects - Up to 50-75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools and other products. Stooping, Squatting, & Kneeling - Stoop and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts. Walking - Short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas. Standing- Prolonged standing. Work Environment - Movement based with the majority of time being in motion (walking & standing) rather than sedentary (sitting). Climate - Ability to work in cold environments (cooler, freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
