Walterscheid Powertrain Group WPG is a leading global manufacturer of supplier of Off-Highway Powertrain Systems, Products and Services. Shipping Coordinator role adds value to the customer by satisfactorily meeting all of the customer's requirements on time. This includes preparing documentation, maintaining records, coordinating logistics, and directing resources ensuring shipments are met. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining and improving processes in the shipping department Assist VSTL by communicating and delegating shipping priorities with employees Create shippers with packaging instructions for all orders Create labels for all "one each" per the pack list instructions Create parts labels as needed Schedule freight through customer portals and confirm shipments Prepare export documentation for international shipments Prepare Bills of Lading and load consolidation Enter/Schedule parcel shipments Prioritizing and communicating with truck drivers, dispatchers, Supply Chain, Operations, CSR's for all on the dock items (i.e. LTL's, Outsourcing, Paint) Schedule all courier shipments and deliveries which also includes managing the courier delivery door. Prepare all outsourcing paperwork and receipts on return Perform morning and evening routines and duties including dock audits, and ASN reports Coordinate with accounting on invoice requirements Coordinate with planning and material handling teams to ensure on time delivery targets are met. Use discretion to make appropriate adjustments with truck drivers, and/or customers (via CSR's) to meet targets. Discretionary decision making to determine fastest, most cost-effective freight shipments (1. LTL vs full truck load, 2. UPS vs. FedEx, 3. Air vs. Ocean) Support facility with all non-standard shipments for Engineering, Operations, Lab, IT, HR, and Accounting. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1 -3 years of work experience dealing with freight Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team player with proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Problem Solving skills with the ability to seek alternative solutions to problems Strong attention to detail Working knowledge of Microsoft office Products Ability to learn new skills Customer Focus – achieving company, department, and personal goals through a strong customer focus. Ability to successfully adapt to changing or competing priorities Prior International or Export experience preferred Continuous Improvement experience preferred
