Marchman Assessor Location: Charlotte County Charlotte Behavioral Health Care's (CBHC) is our area's largest not-for-profit provider of community-based behavioral health care, offering a full range of mental health and substance use services in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, North Port, Sarasota, and DeSoto and Lee Counties. Last year, we served over 11,000 individuals and families. CBHC's mission is to partner with our patients to instill hope, inspire growth, and embrace life. CBHC strives to provide compassionate care to individuals with mental health or substance use disorders through a variety of programs. Our goal is optimal behavioral health and improved quality of life for all children, adolescents, adults, and families Position Summary CBHC has a unique opportunity for a Part Time/PRN Marchman Assessor. This position completed needs assessments and recommendations related to individuals receiving involuntary inpatient substance use treatment. The Central Receiving Facility (CRF) provides assessment and treatment services 24/7. The CRF is a 30-bed inpatient facility with separate adult and children's units designed to serve those who are experiencing an acute mental health or substance use crisis and in immediate need of crisis and stabilization service, voluntarily or involuntarily. The treatment team provides individualized, structured treatment plans and therapeutic activities to individuals. Once stabilized, the team works to connect the individual and family to follow-up services. The Crisis Services Marchman assessor provides crisis evaluations and referrals for individuals and families seeking assistance through CBHC. This includes, but is not limited to: Completes Marchman assessment per statute for patients in the inpatient facility Ob t a i ns c o l l a t e r a l i n f o r m a t i o n f r o m pe r s on s w h o a re f a m i l i a r w i t h t h e c l i en t i n o r de r t o a s s e ss t h e l e v e l o f r i s k M a k es c l i ni c a l de t e r m i n a t i o n regarding recommendation of voluntary versus involuntary substance use treatment Coordinates with clinical team to a ss i s ts pa t i en t s with r e f e r r a l s to internal and e x t e r n a l c o mm uni t y r e s ou rc e s Provides information regarding mental health and substance use diagnosis and treatments Participates in court hearings for involuntary treatment requests Works collaboratively with the CBHC court coordinator to ensure that petition documents are completed and submitted within appropriate timeframes Completed affidavits of non-compliance to the court and attends follow up court hearings as necessary C o m p l etes u p - to - d a te d o c u m e n ta t i on i n a cc ordance w i t h the i n t ern a l a n d e x ternal a u d i t s t a n d ard s Minimum Requirements Masters' or Doctoral degree in behavioral health sciences, such as mental health counseling, social work, art therapy, psychology, or marriage and family therapy. Independent licensed in the state of Florida (LMHC or LCSW). E x pe r i en ce w o rk i n g w i t h i nd i v i du a l s i n c r i s i s o r s ub s t a n ce abu s e i s p r e f e rr ed . Knowledge of the Florida Baker and Marchman Act laws preferred.Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures Ability to pass Level II Background clearance, drug test (CBHC is a drug free workplace) Computer proficiency. Attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
