The City of O'Fallon, MO is looking to hire a reliable Stormwater Maintenance Worker II . Our Stormwater Maintenance Workers II earn competitive hourly rates from $ 23.09 to $34.63 an hour with midpoint control . Your first year you can expect to make a starting salary of $ 23.09 - $24.00 hourly. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A STORMWATER MAINTENANCE WORKER II As part of our Street Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of the City's storm infrastructure. As a Maintenance Worker II, this position does provide temporary oversight of a crew in absence of Crew Leader or temporarily oversee a smaller assignment. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, with required shifts during winter street clearing events. Other duties and responsibilities include: Repairing storm sewer structures. Performing dye tests of storm sewer structures to ensure proper water flow. Excavating and repairing underground pipes and structures. Filling sinkholes. Inspecting and cleaning high flow areas following rainstorms. Repairing driveways and yards. Cleaning basins and unclogging storm lines. Operates a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, saws, etc. Sets up safe work zones. Transports equipment and supplies to and from job sites. Participates in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Communicates with co-workers on job processes and activities. Assist in cleanliness/maintenance of sites, shop and office areas. Assist other City crews as needed. Respond to emergency situations Performs related duties. Organizes jobsites and prepares tools, equipment, and supplies. Making improvement and updates to the stormwater system. Assisting with snow removal. We're looking for someone who has knowledge of the maintenance and repair of municipal stormwater systems as well as the operation and preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment. This person should be someone who can be relied upon to perform their daily tasks in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather. This person can expect to be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease and machinery with moving parts that requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc. Could this be the opportunity for you? Requirements include: High school diploma or GED required. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and/or move and maneuver equipment up to 100lbs. Ability to be on-call evening and weekends and to work long hours outing in all weather conditions. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three to five years' experience or service. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated (Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement).
