Job Summary: The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long-term (3-5 years) contact/support with families. This activity will occur primarily within the family's home. Interventions will be family-centered, strength-based, and directed at: establishing a trusting relationship; assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship; assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment; improving the family support system; and increasing the family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children. Bilingual applicants preferred. Job Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families or two-year college degree with five years' experience in social/human services, or less but with commensurate HFA experience.2. Must have an ability to establish trusting relationships and accept individual differences.3. Have experience and humility to work with the culturally diverse families.4. Possess knowledge of infant and child development5. Be willing to engage in building reflective capacity 6. Infant Mental Health endorsement preferred.
