Position Summary: The Resource and Competency Manager will be responsible for managing the resources and competencies of the A320 Final Assembly Line in Mobile, AL. He or she will be accountable for the headcount model for the A320 FAL perimeter. The position will also be responsible for the resource planning of Rate increase steps and lead the A320 Resource MFT with Operations, Finance & HR. The Position will also be responsible for the AOS Poly-Poly brick structure in developing the competency strategy for each area through coordination with the operations training team. The Resource and Competency Manager will lead a team of 5 that delivers On the Job training at each production station. Primary Responsibilities: Secure and collect the needs up to the Station Level. Resources and Competencies Management of A320 FAL perimeter up to FOT. Mechanical, Structure, Electrical, Paint Cabin / Ground Test Lead the weekly resource routines on workload/workforce and support the managers on surge decision making to meet the plan Work with Operations leadership to define the Poly Poly strategy for each area Follow-up with relevant functions (HR, Training, ...) to consolidate and report on each work competency. Work Authorization Self Inspector Delegated Inspector Consolidate and report Polyvalence & Poly-competence View per station Identify training needs Report to the A320 Leadership team the weekly competences meeting to report the status of competence gaps and action plan. Definition of CVAT Targets per area Daily CVAT reporting to L3/4 leadership Headcount model for the A320 FAL perimeter including Quality, Support functions Definition of Driver Model for White collar Resource planning vs workload Competencies management CVAT Model Support and at times be delegate of HO Performance & Competitiveness at A320 Resource MFT & Site Resource MFT Support change management practices to be utilized in the deployment of the projects Coordinate across functional teams with Operations, HR, Finance to determine the resource needs for Rate steps, including L2 team Define excess capacity needs & quantify the financial needs Collect and report on lessons learned and recommend future best practices Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned: Resource Management of the FAL perimeter Resource planning vs workload Plan together with Finance AOP and Surge Capacity Dimension AOP Consolidation for Production Staff Competence management for 300+ Production Staff Lead a team of 5 direct reports Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Management Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Team management experience is required Data crunching and analysis. Licensure/Certifications: Preferred Six Sigma certification - Black Belt level PMP certification Scrum Master Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required Ability to work in Microsoft Office and GSuite Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to galvanize a team together to reach the project goals Demonstrated effective communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills in math and science Able to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines Ability to handle multiple tasks while dealing with a high volume of complex information and specific deadlines Preferred Experience using LBIP+/DMAIC methodology Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Effective communication skills including the ability to write reports and present data to senior management Ability to speak to large groups of people to present status reports Technical Systems Proficiency: Must demonstrate proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications Must demonstrate proficiency in project management tools Travel Required: 10% Domestic and International travel required Eligibility: Authorized to Work in the US Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time. Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
