Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Alumni Relations Specialist. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations and is located in River Forest, IL. The Alumni Relations Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the cultivation and engagement of alumni in the mission and ministry of the University. This position will support the Foundation department through assisting in all areas from cultivation to stewardship as it relates to alumni relations. Responsibilities/Duties: Manages and writes alumni communication including, but not limited to, the University magazine, website, e-mail, social media, and direct mail Collaborates with campus partners (including Athletics, Alumni Association, academic units) to ensure personal and consistent messaging and positive alumni experiences Assists the Director of University Events with alumni-centric events such as alumni receptions, commencement, conferences, homecoming, and the Athletic Hall of Fame Collaborates with Foundation colleagues (such as External Relations or Gift Officers) to ensure the University's brand and strategy is used consistently and effectively Coordinates and executes stewardship opportunities for Concordia-Chicago alumni Represents Concordia University Chicago as an ambassador at off-campus conferences and events Coordinates student-focused programs to teach philanthropy across University, including graduating class, affinity programs and reunion giving Provides administrative support to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) Skill Sets: Demonstrated success with principles and practices of annual giving Comfortable working with people of diverse generations, backgrounds and experiences Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed Minimum Experience Required: 1-3 years of experience in alumni relations and/or fundraising required Prior experience in educational advancement preferred Strong preference given to alumni of Concordia University Chicago Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required Compensation and Benefits: Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
