JOB TITLE: Data Entry/Cashier GOVERNMENT AGENCY : US Customs & Border Protection - CBP POSITION INFORMATION : Full-Time Position LOCATION: Otay Mesa, CA POSITION TIMING: Position requires a CBP Government security clearance which can take 6-8+ weeks to process and must be complete prior to candidate starting work. SALARY: $16.30/hr + $4.41 per hour Health & Welfare used towards ITC's benefits plan. If not used towards benefits, H&W is deposited in a 401(k) account on the employees' behalf. IT Coalition is currently recruiting for a Full-time (38-40 hours) Junior Data Analysts to support the US Customs and Border Protection contract at the Otay Mesa Entry Branch. RESPONSIBILITIES: Entering data required for Entry Summaries; Liquidations; Entry Releases; In Bond and various other source documents from source documents provided by CBP, via data entry terminals with formatted screens. System login will be required and performed in order to access the appropriate system for data entry. Collecting payments and cash deposits and posting them into the appropriate CBP data systems. Proficiency in basic math functions and the ability to correctly and accurately perform subtraction, addition, multiplication and division is required. Contractor must learn and become proficient in the use of the CBP cash register / electronic collection system. Document receipt, production control, source document analysis, data base maintenance, key entry of new and updated records, visual verification and out put processing in accordance with CBP procedures, and reporting. Prepare documents for mailing and distribute mail. Apply postage to outgoing correspondence and mail through the use of a postage mailmetering machine; track the available funds in the mail meter machine; notify CBP when funds are needed; upload funds to mail meter machine. Work with US Postal Service or other private delivery service (UPS/DHL/FedEx) to send or receive mail via certified, registered or express delivery services. Transport mail to US Postal Service as needed. Maintain production logs. Provide document statistics. Provide data control support. Review, analyze, and edit source documents. Provide user assistance (which may be in person or over the telephone). Operate computers functioning as workstations running under Windows, and create documents using standard software programs such as MS Word, Excel. Support administrative processing systems, including customs broker processing; assist in providing solutions to specific cases/source documents, and data entry problems, and discuss specific cases/data with CBP personnel to clarify and resolve issues. Ancillary function may be required, limited to quality control, sorting, editing, controlling and handling of documents, word processing, and consolidating new procedures as required by CBP. Services will be requested and controlled by means of production logs, which will record all processed deliverables. Terminal processing statistics generated by the ACS and/or ACE systems will supplement these logs. Data will be extracted from various CBP forms to perform input functions. Records contain an average of 80 keystrokes each. Workload will vary from day to day and month to month, during the hours of operation REQUIRED: Proficiency in typing, data entry, operation of a computer, photocopier and other office equipment required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel required. Bilingual in English and Spanish (proficient in reading, writing and speaking) required. High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lb. boxes.
