General Information: Job title: Registration - Emergency/Urgent Care Position Status: Part-time 1, 48 hours per pay period; 3:00pm - 11:30pm shift Weekend rotation: One weekend per month Holiday rotation: One to two holidays per year Position Summary: The Registration position greets patients and obtains and verifies patient demographics and insurance information. Position Responsibilities: Register Emergency and Urgent Care patients. Verify patients' name, DOB, address, phone number, insurance, and emergency contacts. Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms. Collect copays for patients. Register patients for labs and x-ray if needed. Places ID band on patients. Answer phones and determine needs of each caller in a polite and courteous manner. Transfer calls to the appropriate department. Under the direction of the department director, conduct on-the-job training of new employees. Maintain reception area in neat and orderly condition at all times. Participate in medical facility emergency routines, whenever required. Call for triage assistance when needed. All other Revenue Cycle job duties as assigned. Position Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year or less of related work experience required. Experience working in the medical industry preferred. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required. Intermediate proficiency with computers is required. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
