Position Summary Reporting the 1440 Experience Manager, the 1440 Experience Instructor is an integral position, providing movement and/or specialty classes to the guests (and staff) at 1440 Multiversity. 1440 Experience Instructors design and deliver classes, weekend workshops, and host welcome gatherings that align with the core areas of programming: movement (dance, fitness, meditation, nature immersions, qigong, tai chi and yoga); creative expression (art), personal growth (mindfulness), professional development (leadership), and health and wellness (Ayurveda, food & nutrition, holistic medicine). Members of this team have a guest-centered teaching approach, are brand-aligned, and value collaboration. Accountabilities On brand ( " deep hospitality " and " leisure with a purpose " ) , professional, and warm first impressions greeting guests, welcoming them to class, supporting their settling into class Facilitating and/or instructing classes ranging in time from one hour, one and a half hours, and two hours Serving as a host for bi-weekly Welcome Gatherings; willingness to develop a deep knowledge of campus and cultivate connection s among guests Facilitating multi-day workshops implemented from a set curriculum Commitment to diversity and inclusion; establishing a classroom space where all guests are welcome and encouraged to participate to their comfort F or fitness or movement classes, offering varying levels for an inclusive experience for differing levels of ability; precision in cueing and sequencing, including incorporating inspirational messages for mind, body, and emotional development throughout the class Opening class with a breathing/centering practice; for fitness of movement classes, closing with meditation For fitness or movement classes, a ttending to students' needs throughout class, without hands-on adjustments For specialty classes (art, food, leadership, mindfulness), offer ing immersive activities and interactions among participants to maximize engagement and learning Provide appropriate materials, handouts, and/or resources for guests to take learning beyond the classroom Ability to manage varying volume of students; deliver except ional guest experience with one or one hundred guests Ability to communicate efficiently and strong desire to collaborate Support Production Team to maintain an impeccable environment, including space set-up and break down Openness to feedback ; agility in a creative, fast-paced, shifting environment Reliable , punctual, and well- organized Other duties and projects as required Essential Skills and Experience For fitness, meditation, or movement classes, yoga or other embodied p ractice instructor c ertification (200, 300, or 500 hrs.) from a recognized certification program For specialty classes (art, food, leadership, mindfulness), certification from a recognized certification or training program, as appropriate Three years successful experience teaching in area of expertise to a variety of levels Availability to instruct classes two (2) to three (3) times per week, including weekends and holidays Proven experience in facilitating/leading multi-day workshops Excellence in communication skills, especially public speaking and writing C omfortable with group sizes of 3 0 or more Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
