NextGenArmor, one of Wulco's four division, is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Manager. Wulco acquired NextGen Armor in 2022 whose team consists of engineers, program managers, and technically astute manufacturing personnel. NextGen specializes in engineering 3 story high vehicles platforms for the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration. Primary Responsibilities Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products. Perform engineering analysis to support design work (FEA Experience preferred). Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs where applicable. Create and review technical drawings and assemblies in CAD (SolidWorks). Create and execute design plans, identify risk areas and develop containment plans. Create and maintain Bills of Materials for new and existing products. Ability to assist in developing customer proposals from concept design, technical write-ups and cost estimates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work with vendors and contractors. Work with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot and improve designs. Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process. Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Must demonstrate communication skills for the target audience (Technical, Management, Executive) Exceptional technical and critical thinking skills and reasoning ability. Must be able to provide Root Cause Analysis skills for complex systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or in a related field. 5 - 10 years of experience working in engineering. Management Experience is preferred. Project Leadership Experience is preferred. Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar (SolidWorks preferred). Experience in vehicle or vehicle subsystems design is preferred. Experience with sheet metal part fabrication and welding terminology. Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products. Must be self-motivated and an effective team worker.
