Job Description: Metas Solutions has an " immediate opening" for an experienced Azure Cloud & Security Engineer to work remote with the possibility of working onsite in Atlanta, GA at some point in the future. In this role you will provide skills, service, and expertise that support CDC's national efforts to promote health, prevent disease, injury and disability and prepare for emerging health threats. Responsibilities: Onboard authorized users to an Azure cloud and provide access to data, services, and COTS Track operations support and project work in Jira; update team / team lead as roadblocks are encountered. Help solidify documentation that the current version of documentation is valid and up to data for various CDC Data Hub (CDH) systems and activities. Maintain security and governance framework built around Azure IAM by implementing additional security policies, roles, etc. (understanding the use of policies and roles are most important). Implement access and governance in Azure Active Directory for coarse grain security roles needed to access Azure Cloud Console and services accessing data. Understand moving and backing up data using Azure provided services; Possible support required for backing up to AWS S3 Glacier Implement fine-grained governance processes in Azure through Azure services and other analytic services. Implement granular security polices for data assets and analytics services in CDH that access data stored in optimized database in Azure that meet the data governance need and requested access level. Manage security credentials for Azure environment (long-term access keys, Vormetric, etc.) and Azure storage accounts and Act as gatekeeper for issuing credentials and managing expirations and renewals. Work with data engineers and cloud engineer/developer to understand security need(s) for various capabilities; integrate security and governance into implementation. Work with system security steward to document internal system changes for maintaining the certification and accreditation. Understand the security framework and governance framework in Azure built around active directory, role-based access control, access control list, and user group in various analytic products. Troubleshoot fine-grained governance through active directory and COTS user management tooling to provide access to data through services/products like Databricks SQL, Databricks, RStudio, Tableau/Power BI, SAS Viya, etc. Review and audit use of infrastructure for analytic services like Databricks; help fine tune resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk, etc.) for optimal analytics performance. Update and troubleshoot transport services between vendors, AWS, and Azure including between clouds as needed. Review work moving from development to production; complete associated processes, documentation, and sign. Manage vulnerabilities by establishing a means for tracking and viewing service activity, status alerts, and threshold violations using Splunk and other tools. Then help to quickly eliminate security vulnerabilities in the environment by working with the Team Lead on what action steps need to be taken and whom should be notified. Work closely with OCIO to acquire needed analytic infrastructure and Azure services; confirm network and engineering set-up complies with current CDH data governance and meets data flow. Build a dashboard on current state of systems, amount of data and data sets, and more as determined. Help integrate and implement security tooling into development pipeline, data operations, and MLOps Work closely with development team to establish DevSecOps, DataOps, and MLOps; integrate security tooling into the process as needed. Facilitate development teams' access to GitHub and Azure DevOps. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or related field with 5 years of experience. Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience with Azure. Minimum of 4 years of experience implementing granular security policies for data assets and analytic services. Experience implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles in Azure Active Directory. Experience with analytical data services, such as Databricks SQL, Databricks, RStudio, Tableau/Power BI, SAS Viya, etc. Certified Azure Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) preferred. Desired Skills and Experience: CDC or Public Health experience strongly preferred. Azure: 4+ years required. Microsoft OfficeSuite 365, Teams, and SharePoint experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Documentation Skills. English required. Security Requirements: Must be US Citizen or with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (Public Trust 5) within a reasonable period.
