The mission of the Children's Attention Home is to provide nurturing care and life-changing services for youth and families in need. Every person on our 60+ member team has an important role that leaves a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. As a provider of residential services to children who have experienced situations of abuse, neglect, or homelessness, we must take the utmost care when reviewing candidates. Hiring policies are taken directly from the state and federal standards under which we operate. All candidates must agree to a SC Central Registry Check, SLED check, and fingerprinting. Position Summary and Purpose: T he Residential Services Director (RSD) leads, directs and manages the functions of residentia l care for the Children's Attention Home (CAH) in fulfillment of the requirements and needs of the children in care. The RSD oversee s the hiring, orientation and ongoing development of residential personnel of CAH in delivering emergency and longer-term direct care and supportive services to CAH residents . The RSD is responsible for the full spectrum of children's care and development including physical health and wellness, mental and emotional health, educational and intellectual development and social and spiritual health and welfare. The RSD promotes and reinforces practices, policies and procedures that ensure residential services operate in an efficient, effective team-based manner while ma intaining the highest standards for ethical, respectful, considerate, compliant, and quality service delivery. Primary Job Responsibilities: Admissions, residential and direct care services, an d discharge of all children in the care of CAH, including: Identification and fulfillment of the requirements and needs of the children in care. Oversight and management of the children's daily activities including meals and lodging. Transportation to, and oversight of, education services. Oversight, direction and management of direct care services including medical, clinical, social/psychological counseling, life skills, etc. I nterface with DSS leadership, management and caseworkers to effect positive outcomes for the children. Engage and w ork with various networks, agencies, and organizations to obtain needed and governmental and clinical services for the children. Maintains appropriate records of CAH operations and child services. Planning and Scheduling: Develops, manages, and monitors pl ans for all residential activities and direct care services. Works in conjunction with the Program Director and Executive Director for regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal governmental rules and regulations , including residential contracts, licenses, inspections, surveillance, etc. Develop, establish, maintain and direct execution of residential policies to ensure quality control, process improvement and to support CAH and its objectives. Team Management: Directly supervises Residential Leadership Team, including Care Coordinators and Shift Supervisors . Responsible for e mployee evaluations for all direct reports; provides feedback and guides and directs residential goal setting. Works in conjunction with the Training Coordinator to ensure all team members are in compliance with educational requirements including completion of mandatory training sessions and required training hours. Program Management: Responsible for direction and management of all residential programs including scheduling, cost/financial, grant requirements and reports, and quality performance. Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically withi n the mission and values of CAH. New Program Development: Responsible for keeping abreast of the new changes in requirement s, policy and procedures of DSS. Program Evaluation: Compl ete a formal re view of the residential program on an annual basis with an emphasis of evaluating goals/objectives, cost and outcomes. Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas, focusing on systems /process improvement. Networking: Establish and cultivate a system of formal and informal relationships which can improve/enhance program services and promote the mission, vision, values and outcomes of the CAH. Serves as a system administrator for Kalediacare and Relias. Team Building: Must form mutually respectfu l and trustful working relationships with the team . Must model appropriate team building skills/behavior to Residential Leadership Team and other team members. Performs related duties as assigned. Competencies: Communicate well with fellow employees and comfortable working as part of a team. Ability to lead and instruct individuals and teams. Experience managing the performance of subordinates and aligning their individual goals with those of the organization. Cr eative problem-solver. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to utilize those skills on a daily basis to connect with internal clients, external clients, and employees in a timely manner. Ability to independently manage workload, set pri orities, meet deadlines, work under pressure and adjust to change. Demonstrate integrity, strong character and a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization when working with employees. Self-motivated and able to operate with little sup ervision while working under pressure with tight timeframes and deadlines. Demonstrate maturity in decision-making and initiative all while being a team player and collaborator. Work well under pressure with tight timeframes and deadlines. Strong project m anagement skills. Excellent management of multiple tasks. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Present self in a professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts. Interpersonal skills -listen to others, work well in a team environment. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely. Str ong organizational skills. Dependability - consistently at work on time, follow instructions, respond to manager's instructions. Stron g computer skills - including some Microsoft Office software programs and industry specific computer software. Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays. Education and Training: Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years' experience with the population to be served . At least two years supervisory experience required . Prior experience with a non-profit (including, but not limited to, a children's services-related group home or similar organization) is preferred . Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel, crou ch or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a computer , telephone, etc. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects or children. Work involves walking or standing for periods of time.
