The Recruiting/HR Specialist is responsible for the develop ment , handling and implement ation of effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Th is individual will administer various HR functions including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Responsibilities include: Recruitment Sources, screens, qualifies and interviews for open positions; consults with Hiring Manager to select appropriate candidates for hire Assists hiring team with customized screening and initial contact of applicants to determine qualifications and interest level Prepare and maintain various recruiting cycle status reports for use by executives and HR management Handles reference checking and processing/administering of background checks; Negotiates and prepares offer letters and other accompanying documents; Confirms start dates Keeps applicant tracking system up to date Conducts employment related research and assists recruitment team with electronic and other methods of sourcing of qualified candidates Serves as resource for recruitment policies, procedures, and practices Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of recruitment, employment, HRIS, compensation, benefits, pay administration, and other related organizational policies, practices, procedures, and/or regulations Assists with identifying issues affecting recruitment and implementing recruitment activities to continuously improve process New Hires and Onboarding Plans and conducts onboarding presentation and ensures completion of new hire paperwork with new employees. Is responsible for HRIS system and keeping information up to date. Recordkeeping & Reporting Ensures proper information is contained within electronics employee personnel files Runs and analyzes HR and Payroll information/reporting as requested Keeps proper records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting through HRIS system Benefits Administration Enters enrollments, qualifying events and terminations into the various insurance sites; Coordinates open enrollment process and communication. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Handles benefit questions from staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required, SHRM certification preferred. Two ( 2)+ years of experience in HR, with a heavy emphasis in recruiting, along with a strong interest in employment law and regulations Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures Knowledge of best practices for recruitment and interviewing techniques, benefits and HRIS systems Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadline s Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment SKILLS / ABILITIES: Analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on practical outcomes. Excellent verbal and written, communication skills. Demonstrates a proactive, holistic approach. Strong interpersonal skills. Collaborative work style that ensures key stakeholders are consulted where appropriate. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
