Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc. is seeking full-time t he Dental Hygienist is committed to serving through strong team leadership the improvement of the oral health and habits of our community. Duties: Function as part of the dental health care team Access patient's present oral condition/oral cancer screen, periodontal assessment/prognosis if questionable Scale and polish teeth/Periodontal evaluation/Deep cleaning if required Provide detailed oral health care instructions Assess patient for health risk behaviors to include tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, diet analysis due to caries risk Give appropriate education and behavior counseling to assist the dental patient in changing risky behaviors Health Promotions Distribute appropriate health promotion literature Conduct dental health promotion programs. Educational and dental disease screening for the community Other related job duties as assigned by supervisor A Successful Candidate: Good oral and verbal communication skills Good organizational and self-motivational skills Use of Dental Technology, Dental Health Maintenance, Infection Control, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Bedside Manner, Creating a Safe Effective Environment, Administering Medication Qualifications: Education: Must have either a certificate or Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited school of Dental Hygiene. Must have a current licensed issued by the State of Missouri Experience: 1-2 yrs experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact required Other: Must have reliable transportation.
